My travels begin

I have moved into a cheap hotel in Shepherd's Bush. Locals seem OK although the language is giving me difficulties. Local tube stations appear to be mainly ornamental rather than providing services.

The bedroom is small but clean, although lacking a safe and I'm not insured until I leave the UK. The en-suite bathroom is larger than the bedroom, oddly enough. There's supposed to be free wi-fi but my brief attempts to connect failed, fingers crossed I can get it going later.

Currently on my way down to Richmond for more farewell drinks...
