Sun 1054 Had shower and having quick coffee in kitchen before heading over to we Samuel at 1130 before we gea train out for an excursion.
Met him and colleague Georgia (Greek, Australian citiizen, spefks Spanish) at his school and we wenter over to maket whervby cave a Brazilian guy called Paullo (sp) was at the table and started chatting to us, really nice guy he live in Germany and was on a day tour of the three Baltic capitals.
Good chat, went to supermarket a market cloes 7sh, Samuel got some kvass and we had it and a bit of chocolate local back at his flat at school. Georgia met us there and we went out to another Eztis for a drink before she had to go off to see her bf for his birthday. Samul and I had some more beers and a g&t then went to another bar for a draugt kvass and then a very civilised kebab wrap thing at a kebab shop (Indian staff and very low key tandoori restaurant kind of music in background which was oddly familiar and pleasant).
Walked back from there solo, bit deserted out of main areas and just wanted bed because f mildly early start but not drunk. Old town mich busie, not rammed but busy, tiny bit rowdy bu no big deal.
Didn't sleep great but not terrible, mostly awake from 9ish but didn't want to get up. Bit achey in bed somehow. Had a shower and a shave and now here.
Mon 0035 back at hostel. Not a bad day. The train we planned to get was actually full and they wouldn't let us on, so we went to Jurmala instead, we got really lucky with the weather, gtey but not cold and almost windless, walked down the main street, through a park, up 33m ibservation tower and along the beach then a coffee on upper terrace with half a honey cake and half a chocolate thing each (we got two and split them). Train back, beer and a dinner and another beer at Lido with Samuels friend Juliette then as she had to work we went back to his place and had a bit of kvass and decent chat while she did work (apparently not mentally demanding), pretty decent hlbight. A few more beers would have been nice but it is also nice to pace things a bit. Meeting 1215 for another attempt at the place we intended to go today.
