Quick linguistic note

I kept asking for "batterias" when trying to buy those button cell batteries. I could swear I had been told that "pilas" only means the 'regular' batteries (AA sort of thing). And people did seem to understand what I wanted. But I noticed when I put them in the diary that the shop's own price sticker said "pila". Maybe I got it the wrong way round, but I could swear I didn't. Another question next time I can interrogate a native speaker.

(I kind of remember because I tried to buy "batterias" in Mexico - when I wanted AAs - and I had trouble, and later someone told me I should have said "pilas".)

Pongase las pilas, Steve. :-)
