Probably won't be out that late even given the option, I feel totally knackered and e.g. walking up a step is a bit painful.
Went to the Museo Santa Teresa earlier. It's an ex-convent (well, apparently there are still 6 nuns left, but they have a new building and the old place is the museum). Not totally fascinating but quite interesting all the same. I didn't see one or two bits, our tour group joined another one and instead of seeing the bits we missed at the end we saw some rooms we'd already seen a second time. Oh well.
Before that I went over to the bus terminal and bought a ticket to La Paz on an overnight bus tomorrow. I checked before I came out tonight I can leave my bags at the hotel, so I have tomorrow to do some more touristy stuff.
The bus leaves at 8:45pm (I need to be there half an hour earlier with my bags) and gets to La Paz about 5 or 6am in the morning. I have booked myself a hostel in La Paz for 5 nights, at about £12 for sole occupancy of a twin room with shared bathroom.
They've started playing some music in here just slightly too loud but still no sign of anyone willing to serve me a beer. Still, it's an experience and I couldn't see anywhere better.
Had a hamburger, chips and an empanada before I came here. None of those items were massive but I struggled to finish them. I just don't seem to have much of an appetite right now.
Got my beer. Just can't seem to relax. Not sure why. Maybe it's because I have to check out and travel again tomorrow. I seem to be perpetually damp here, my shoes never get time to dry out and it pissed it down again earlier, it was only spitting while I was walking over here but the roads have rivers running down the sides, sometimes too wide to easily step across.
The hostel is not too cold but not overly warm, there are radiators but I am not sure they are working or that the heating is on.
Will probably finish this litre of beer (my first today), which will take a while, then go home. I'll get a cab to avoid wasting time if there's a damn dog near the hostel. Fingers crossed I can leave the laptop on overnight uploading more photos, get a good night's sleep and be up earlyish tomorrow.
The DJ kind of chap just announced they are open til 5am. There is no way I expect to be here after about 11, but interesting to know there is some nightlife here after midnight. Especially since it's Sunday today. It has got a bit busier in here too, I am deliberately lurking in a quiet corner near the bar so I can't see everything, but it's busy enough.
Oh, I was fortunately reminded by flicking through my guide book to check that the hostel in La Paz has 24h reception. If I feel there like I do here I doubt I shall be out overly late, but even last night I got back at midnight and tonight it will probably be after 11.
Left without finishing the beer, I just wasn't enjoying it. Just got back to the hostel, and for the second night had to fumble my way along the upstairs hallway in the dark. Oh well. Back now safe & sound.
