Neuquén, Monday

1356 At terminal. Massive walk over, could possibly have got a bus but it's all exercise and I see the town. Lots of buses to Bariloche, just paid ARS262 for semi cama at 1255 tomorrow, takes about 5h (ticket in pocket, not getting it out). I figure if checkout is 10ish that maybe gives me time to walk over (tho it's so far may take taxi) and will get me into Bariloche with some prospect of walking to hotel from terminal and time (modulo Skyping with parents) to have a wander and get food after arriving.

I was distracted (think I was looking at a building and wondered if it was a Falklands memorial) walking through central park earlier and walked right through a sprinkler, as did some old woman walking just in front of me. Dried off pretty quickly though, v warm here.

Anyway, let's head back. Quick look at guide book first just in case want to try for any museums but perhaps best get back to hotel (at least an hour's walk) and see if parents are home and so on. Also while moderate availability of hotels and especially dormitory beds in Bariloche probably smart to book ASAP which also indicates direct return to hotel. I may stop for a cooked meal en route if somewhere is open though. Not looking at guide book, don't want to tempt myself with anything interesting which I may not get to see. There's always next time.

1526 At some restaurant in centre of town, getting bife de chorizo with french fries and mineral water. Got two bananas and an apple on walk back from terminal then a 500ml bottle of diet coke elsewhere. Heading back to hotel but figured food a good idea.

Probably getting serious sunburn on head, had some couple of days ago but seem to be having trouble keeping in shade. Am figuring to a certain extent best to let it get a bit burned then it will probably be less sensitive for rest of holiday.

1615 Food OK if not outstanding. Bill 95, made it 105 with tip. Let's go back to hotel via supermarket mentioned last night if possible. Place is called Moscato.

0139 FFS. Surfing up a storm, taking advantage of privacy while I have it. Severely red all over head, arms and hands. Mostly packed, will go to bed soon, honest. Had Spanish lesson on similar privacy grounds.
