More random observations

At the tour office this morning there was an 'advice for tourists' official leaflet. It said official taxis have a chequerboard pattern on the side. I haven't seen a single vehicle with anything like that on.

There are a lot of slightly odd looking small cars here - I have no idea what model they are, something like a cross between a Metro and a Fiat 126. I have a vague suspicion a lot of them are taxis of some stripe, but am not sure.

Although it's a bit of an exaggeration, the streets here look a bit like something from a 10 year old computer game. Half the cars are those small vehicles, and half are practically identical looking large 1970s-ish American saloons (a lot of them seem to be Dodges). It's as if there's only enough memory for a couple of 3D models and so nearly every car has to be one of those two.
